Hi, in P2 I came across the following tagging problems. The situation is as follows, a road for cars with a parallel, but separate (tagged) bicycle path.
Bicycle – yes Pedestrians - ? The pedestrians will go on the footpath, but how to tag it. But with a bicycle path there’s no possibility to tag the footpath for pedestrians or even to tag if it’s left or right. Shouldn’t t we tag a parallel bicycle path only as parallel and not separately just to make it claer there's a footpath too in rural areas ? Greetz Hendrik

If it's shared

then highway=path bicycle=designated foot=designated segregated=yes or no dependent on signage

If they're physically separate then 2 ways highway=footway and highway=cycleway

Hi Brian, thats just the problem. The road has a separated bicyclepath with a footpath at both sides every now and then in rural areas. But someone has tagged it separate alongside the road. Look here http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=51.983202&lon=5.780007&zoom=18&layers=M Im curious or make my day. Greetz
