hi recently italy has started to release "open data" with several license types, and among those data you can find shapefiles: http://www.dati.gov.it/cerca/type/dataset/?solrsort=ds_created%20desc&f[0]=im_field_formato%3A3752 and kml files: http://www.dati.gov.it/cerca/type/dataset/?solrsort=ds_created%20desc&f[0]=im_field_formato%3A3940 i tried importing one kml after having converted it into gpx with an online tool: http://www.poieditor.com/poi_convert/kml-to-gpx/ but the import failed with the following message: failed to import. Here's the error: Found no good GPX points in the input data notice I saw the imported data into the map for a while - before it hanged - and it was just a collection of points while it was a collection of shapes in the original kml file. is there a way to convert these kml files corretly, so that the exported file would be imported succesfully? answered 26 Nov '12, 21:30 Corrado Have a look at http://www.gpsbabel.org/ .

Welcome to OpenStreetMap, and thanks for your offer. OSM uses its own data format, and data in other formats must be imported. So a DWG file will probably only be useful with extra work. To be certain, you should probably post on the mailing list, or get in touch with your local OSM community.
