I have a GPS dataset which I converted to GPX format, My aim is to download the map around the track generated by the GPS data. I opened the gpx file in JOSM and downloaded the map by right clicking and selecting (C). But now am not able to find the existing track in map. Is there any way to incorporate back the track? also is there any way to convert this track to a route?

  • What do you mean by "incorporate back the track"?
  • what do you mean by "convert this track to a route" (note that you can convert a gps track into an OSM way as a basis for further refinement)?
  • "right clicking and selecting (C)" - where did you do that? A screenshot might help.

Possibly it would help if you could tell us about your overall goal. Do you want to just visualize your tour? Do you want to contribute to the public OSM data (e.g. adding missing ways/roads/paths)?

To download OSM data around a gps track you can use the entry in the rightclick menu of the gps track in the layer dialog after opening it with JOSM. If you cannot see your gps track anymore after this, you may want to change the layer order (gps layer on top) by using the up/down layer panel buttons.
