One Answer:
You cannot add new icons to the map that we display at https://www.openstreetmap.org/; the best you can do is suggest, via our bug tracker at trac.openstreetmap.org, an icon that you believe should be added for a certain category of objects. It is then the cartographers' decision whether or not they follow your suggestion. But you can make your own maps with any icons you like!
