You can search by address by appending **`search?query=`** to the URL, like this:
[https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=221b Baker Street London](https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=221b Baker Street London)
But that won't show a marker on the map, at least until you hover the mouse over one of the Nominatum results.
You can add a marker to the map by specifying latitude and longitude with **mlat** and **mlon** parameters on the URL.
Example: [https://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=39.9155&mlon=4.1745](https://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=39.9155&mlon=4.1745)
Edit: Sorry, I misread the question, So if you're willing to do a two-step process, you DON'T know can first query Nominatum and then construct a marker URL using latitude and longitude. I agree with H_mlet, see [this question](https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/72106/simple-url-query-to-display-address) for some ideas. It won't generally be as reliable as passing coordinates though.longitude of Nominatum's results.
