Was habe ich übersehen ? Gibt es eine Kurzbeschreibung ?

Roughly:

"I'm New to OSM and would first like to label our office building in OSM Potlatch, but in edit mode find no writing editor. It's actually a 4-digit name that I want to attach to an already existing building. What am I missing? Is there a short description?"

When you click on a building in Potlatch you should see three tabs at the left. In English they're labelled "B" (Basic), "D" (Details) and "A" (Address), although I'm not sure what they're called in German. On the "basic" tab you can enter a building name, and on the "address" tab details such as building name, house number, etc.

On this page (Deutsch) there's a link to a couple of videos that might be useful too. Also of course's there's the beginners' guide (Deutsch).

Also here (Deutsch) is a description of how building names and numbers can be entered.
