Having just come here for the very first time ( from the Wired article ), I checked the area around my home and discovered an error. In checking the main page there isn't any reference to how to update the site at all. In checking the "Help Centre" all I see is a page of random questions such as "How does one identify GPX speed in JOSM?". The FAQ link is just about being nice in the questions page, no actual FAQ for the map or project.

It wasn't until I went to the "Documentation" link that there is a "beginners guide" link half-way down a very busy page that mentions correcting data.

My recommendation is to add in better visibility to the "I would like to make a change" documentation - is there a way to get it on the main page, and perhaps a sticky at the top of the Help page? Mark

Good feedback, thanks.

There's a Getting Started link in a fairly prominent position on the Documentation front page, which is itself the link just below the one that comes here to the Help Centre. There's been a fair bit of discussion about what should be on the website front page with, it's fair to say, no concensus yet.

But yes, the help centre FAQ really ought to make it clearer what it's the FAQ for. Unfortunately, someone needs to volunteer to change it and (as with every volunteer project) that takes time...
