Pages such as http://odbl.de/ give an idea of how many objects were either last edited by a non-CT-accepter, or where the v1 object was created by a non-CT-accepter, and never modified. When I turn on the licence highlighting feature in editors like Potlatch, it seems to highlight ways and nodes where any edit was made by a non-CT-accepter. Is there a method to get an idea of what percentage of ways are like this? To give an idea of what I'm talking about, consider this way: http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/17558756 It was created by me from a survey in 2007, and last edited by another CT accepter in June 2011, but edited by non-CT-accepters in between. Thus it shows as CT-ODbL accepting way at http://odbl.de/ In Potlatch this way shows as red when you turn on the license tracking feature. How does one get an idea of what percentage of ways are like this in an area? |

One possibility is Geofabrik's OSM Inspector which has a license change map. That doesn't give you a numeric percentage but it shows a zoomed-out version of what you see in the editor. When zoomed in on z10 or higher, you can even select individual objects with the mouse to see details for them, and then clicking on the Thanks. That is a useful tool.

There is no tool that shows percentage of nonclean ways for smaller areas. You can take a look at these two maps to get an idea how many problematic ways are in that area:

I'll add odbl.poole.ch (same idea as odbl.de, but more correct as it considers the whole object history) and the osmi munin graphs to see the worldwide numbers ploted over time. |
