I am trying to Acquire shape files for an area i am actively editing for another project, how would i go about that? i do not see any Korean sections in the download section, i was hoping that my edited region would be updated .. |

The Cloudmade download server has shapefiles for Korea. There are none on Geofabrik's download server but they will usually add files to the list if you inquire. Note that there is not "one true way" of making shape files from OSM data - everyone does it differently, resulting in different columns etc. The most versatile way of making shape files is if you download and install the osmjs utility which allows you to specify exactly what you want in your shape through a few lines of JavaScript. Of course this still requires that you have an OSM extract for your area to begin with. |
