I'm trying to understand how to create my own .map files of the cities I want, because I need to store the map files on my Android phone and show them locally (without an internet connection) using Mapforge API for android. I can do it with the example maps downloaded from mapforge website, berlin.map works perfectly, but i need to make the map files that i want from the cities i want. I'm reading some info about how to create my own .map files of openstreemap, but i can't understand how to do it. Please, can someone give me a link with a easy tutorial or some help to do it? |

If you have looked at the Mapsforge stuff, then perhaps you missed this. Get a valid .osm file of the area you want to convert to a map file, then use Osmosis with their map file writer plugin. |

No there is no tutorial for creating map files.! That's not very helpful.

no no, i dont want to code this, i want to generate map files, with openstreetmaps, they can be generated with the navigator i think
in the meantime (it seems), they also offer many precompiled maps.
