How do I save or digitize or download a map?

This question is really rather unspecific, but you probably want to look at downloading data or one of the export features.

That question is very general. So general it can hardly be answered.

Saving depends on the editor you use to change the map.
The map is as digital as it can be.
You can download the map for example here.
