Hello to anyone! Can anybody adjust this highway (SH2) in Albania: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=41.36912&lon=19.690898&zoom=18&layers=M The correct way most be like this: http://maps.google.com/?ll=41.368999,19.691556&spn=0.005628,0.013078&t=m&z=17&vpsrc=6 asked 15 Nov '11, 15:16 kaprik |
I have now fixed this. There was several overlapping ways for that highway SH2. And the ways for the bridges were repeated/circular, ie they went across the bridge then back again. I'm not sure how this happened, but it caused that strange rendering on the map. For these sorts of problems it is worth checking some of the Quality assurance tools, which can highlight possible errors. eg Keep Right or the JOSM Validator. Both of these tools find a number of other errors in that area, eg crossing ways and overlapping ways. It would be worth checking these, and fixing them where possible. See this link for the area on Keep Right. answered 15 Nov '11, 18:48 Vclaw |
Anybody could adjust it but they should not use google data to do it. that is copyrighted. if you can record some gps traces or if the bing background images are good in that area go ahead. please read up on copyright, the beginners guides and the videos tutorials on editing. good luck answered 15 Nov '11, 16:48 andy mackey 1
The problem is not copyrights but, this road need an expert to link the road in the correct way on this viaduct, like on the image here. Me can't do it...

I recently decided to redraw a new modified junction when the roads roads had been given some extra lanes. This was the process I followed.I created nodes on the existing roads where the changes commenced and after noting tagging of all the roads at the junction and noting them on my survey sketch uploaded my gps traces of the new junction as it had been widened and moved since bing.I then deleted the old wrong bits and redrew it all, making sure I had got the one ways correct and all that all the nodes were connected where they needed connecting, then checked that tags and one ways were all ok and saved it. I then looked at it again the next day to check. answered 17 Nov '11, 10:17 andy mackey Hello dear Andy! Thanks for your work. I saw on the public view this intersection and it looks always wrong! But on the edit mode it looks better now... I think another problem must be that the parallel lane is named SH3 when the correct mode most be SH2. Do you think is all right now!?

Hi kaprik. It can take a day or more for the edits to be shown in the renderings at all levels and then it should look ok.If road names or numbers are incorrect they can be re-tagged that is best done by someone with local knowledge,it is an easy edit. The videos and beginners guides explain it well.

Hi Andy, the confusion with name reference SH3 & SH2 is ok now, is just SH2, me edit it. Now will wait for renderings to be shows. Thank you for the collaboration.

now fixed I hope
corrected the one way but notice that at some render levels it not showing the correction yet which is not unusual. As vclaw said there was some odd drawing which he corrected while I was looking at it. I have found that its best to add some nodes to allow splitting of the ways so you can delete the problem bit and start fresh but we are all wary of deleting.
We can all try to sort problem bits such as this,But if we mess up its ok as long as we do not save it as a bigger mess.
