How can I create a node with exact coordinates in Potlatch? Workaround: I know I can position the pointer & press L, to see the coordinates of the pointer, but that takes a lot of trail & error to get the exact position. Is there no way to position the cursor to coordinates (within the editing window), or create a node at coordinates like in JOSM? asked 21 Sep '10, 15:42 BennieD edited 08 Jan '17, 16:04 aseerel4c26 ♦ |

I tried a trick: create a gps-file with 2 points, one at your coordinates, the other one next to it (not too far). I used a track I had saved from my GPS-Device as a template. Then upload the track to osm, wait and eventually it will display. Awfully complicated but it works. answered 22 Dec '13, 15:58 hubeat remember to delete that track after you are done, so it does not confuse other mappers (in case they see it - which could happen in future). Then in Potlatch2 : Background: Vector File : File Open (your GPX): tic Show and tic Select. you will now see the GPX. note: it may be a little hard to see if only a very short trace, try turning off BING. and then adjust the dim and sharp settings. answered 24 Dec '13, 12:12 andy mackey edited 08 Jan '17, 20:55 As mentioned already in the question text, the shortcut "L" also exists at P1 which may be even a bit easier. (09 Jan '17, 07:00) aseerel4c26 ♦ |
Although Potlatch was a main editor in 2010 it as mostly been replaced by Potlatch2 . The old Potlatch still has i believe some unique features. So shouldn't this question be clear about the version of Potlatch this question is about?
P2 was the default since March 2011, so I guess the question is about P1. For P1 we would have another tag.
