bug report

I stumbled across someone else's bug report. Not really a bug - there's a commuter lane exit, then a highway split, and their navigation gave proper directions based on that (and any human reading a map would have realized that instead of saying, "stay right", they would have said, "ignore that exit on the left"). Anyway... I figure changing that lane to a ramp might keep navigation programs happier, but it's not a proper ramp / exit so somewhat less accurate. Any thoughts on fixing, or should it be left as is?

What is a commuter lane? Is that an HOV lane or something else?

The way the navigation software interprets OSM data is beyond our control. All that we can do is tag the roads as correctly as possible and then hope that the Nav software is smart enough to notice.

For reserved lanes of freeways, known by different names in different places, the tag "hov" (High Occupancy Vehicle) is the preferred tag in OSM. I have seen the term "Hov" used in California, but it may be used in other places as well.
