https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit?editor=id#map=19/40.27482/-87.39036 Hi. After logging in I typed my address in the search bar. The response to my search is "no location found", yet when I search by zooming in on the map of the area, I am able to find my house and property. Is it possible for me to add the address myself and if so, where would I find assistance in doing so, whether it's a link or a question already asked and answered that I have missed? If I am not permitted to add the address myself, where do I send a request for this to be done? I took the time to go through the tutorials in the editing section before coming here and I have included the link to my house on the map. I'm not sure what tags to enter below. Thank you. asked 31 Dec '23, 20:22 lcrystal09 |
Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap. There's a general help button at the top of your weblink page which leads to lots of help. As you refer to a link to the iD editor perhaps the best help to direct you to is here:- https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/id-editor/ Have a read there, then have a go at adding something, check that your data is correct before uploading it. If you have any questions you can ask here or mail me direct. I've added a building (from imagery), to that plot to get you started. Map as much as you like, I'll check later to see how you get on. If this is the property https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=18/40.27492/-87.39082 and I were mapping it I would use the Potlatch Editor (As I am familiar with it). If I click on the building and the address box. I can then have the option of adding the building name. the house number, the post code, the street name, and the town or city. If you can confirm the position and you post these details in a comment I will add them for you. answered 01 Jan, 21:39 andy mackey |
