Hello I would like to proceed with a mapping of the historical sundials present in my area, I would like to know if there is a defined syntax for their mapping, thanks. Walk60

I don't think we have a defined syntax, Mappers do what they think is best and like your sensible suggestions it could evolve into a standard practice. We can search tags and variations and how many, here https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/search?q=historic%3Dsundial#tags
