Pink areas in transit map

Hi, Could someone tell me what the pink areas are? They are marked in the image with green arrows. They're shown in a transit map. Somewhere I read they're "private areas" but that doesn't seem right.

HI. Thank you. I don't understand what they mean, because they're connected in weird ways like diagonally across a block.

Those areas connect several transit stops that belong together, usually because they have the same name or reference. So these are the places where you can switch from one bus to another or to a tram etc. In the usual transit maps all the points in that area will only show up as a point connecting all the lines going through any of those original stop points.
