I will give an example that no longer exists. Little Rock used to have CATA as the one in charge of the bus system for Pulaski County (in central Arkansas). CATA no longer exist since RRM operates the service.Let me move back to the 90s before I knew OSM existed. If the 21 route was entered as 21 and University Ave since that was the name, should one be removed from OSM?While in Little Rock, I have been working with data from Memphis and find duplicates and triplicates. Should I remove to make OSM only have one bus route for each route? Should the answer be yes, would you remove the bus route without the bus number in the name? This gets time consuming if the answer is yes. However, I have time. I already did for 1 or 2 routes not knowing that I was removing duplicate routes. Actually, I corrected 1 route that made the name almost the same but the route the same. asked 21 Aug '23, 07:35 Dark_Valor |
There are two ways to map bus routes in OSM. The newer method uses a relation for each direction and a route master to relation to tie the two together. More complicated routes also have a relation for each variation of the route. See here for more information. answered 22 Aug '23, 16:46 InsertUser |
