Why cannot I not type text when editing?

I have OSM open in Safari. I was able to edit some that required no text. However, anything like a business' name is not possible to type. When I saved, I actually had to open Word, type there, copy what I typed, and paste into OSM for the comments about my changes. Does OSM have issues right now? I cannot type Road Runner for the name of a convince store that is not Road Ranger or anything else. Help please

I'm not the original thread beginner, but I still have this issue on iD in Safari. The only data I am able to change is numerical data such as number of floors, I am unable to change things such as building and road name data.
