So open street maps correctly labels the welsh name for parc cenedlaethol eryri. The government has decreed to refer to the area formerly known as Snowdonia to eryri and snowdon mt is now known by its welsh name yr wyddfa. Da iawn/very good! Open street map has updated with this information. However strava has not. Their description of routes in the area still says Snowdonia national park. I contacted strava about this and they said to raise the issue with open street map! Honestly feel like strava are acting pretty poorly here not dealing with it themselves but here I am! Do you know why it would be different? Any plans for it to be updated on strava? asked 09 Aug '23, 11:13 Jennyjennyje... |
Hello, Andy from OSM's Data Working Group here. Please forward your message from Strava to data@openstreetmap.org so that we can "educate" Strava about how their maps work. If you can link to the thing in Strava that is incorrectly named then that would help, since the answer is going to be different for Strava user-contributed content (see for example this), Strava background maps (some of which at least use OSM data via Mapbox) and Strava's own content. answered 09 Aug '23, 12:10 SomeoneElse ♦ Cheers Andy, I love your answer! :) thank you. Will do as instructed :)
