Hi team!

I am in the process of wanting to build a map of independent jam and pickle makers.

I have been able to create pins and edit info relating to the pins, but I need help with social media and website links. Some have pages, others don't. When I create a pin with a web address for potential viewers to click on to go to their page, it comes up with an error code : 4 NOT FOUND

I've followed some of the threads here and as some of the businesses don't have shop fronts, they prefer to sell online only, I've said to them we can make the public library the pin-point to still get onto the map.

As they won't have an actual address, am I still able to create a pin for them and have a website link that goes to their page?

Love to hear from you. Thanks!

You're not saying what platform you're using to make these pins - is it "umap" by any chance?

On OpenStreetMap we'd have some rules about what you can add to our map - a pickle maker shipping from dad's garden shed without being publicly visible would usually not be considered worthy of inclusion. However, if you are using umap then you can place pins wherever you want - it's your own map and it doesn't affect OpenStreetMap as a whole.

Thanks for that. Yes, I am using umap. The issue is my weblinks don't work once I add them. Is there a way around this do you know?

Here is the link that goes through when clicked that goes to an error page. https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/www.instagram.com/rumarart

Below it seems to look correct at the pin.

Thanks for the quick reply :)

That URL looks like it's trying to do a relative link within the umap site rather than linking externally. I think you need to include the "https://" part explicitly to fix this. Further formatting help here.
