I am doing Topographical CNC wood carvings. I have been trying to get the locations of the memorials in one osm file to be imported into OGIS. The only way I can accomplish this is to zoom in relatively close to view them and the export that. I am doing this process many times to get the whole battlefield. Anyway of doing this in one file would be helpful. |
I don't know the import capabilities of OGIS but you can get a whole state extract for Pennsylvania from Geofabrik in either a shp file or a OSM pbf file. You can use a tool like osmium to make an extract that covers only the area of interest, maybe the whole battleground, and then import that to your GIS program. |
Overpass would suit your need I think. Overpass-turbo.eu is a nice web interface with export options. If you meant QGIS, there is an overpass plugin. |
