Please note that the border area between Sudan & Egypt is subject to struggle between the previously mentioned countries and there is a complaint raised by my country Sudan on UN which is under investigation and all the known maps indicate that area belongs to Sudan. I am officially a Sudanese citizen. You should make the border line as a conflict area but not a straight line because with such a situation you declare your bias to Egypt. If the fair action is never taken by you we will escalate the matter to the concerned authorities for legal action. asked 10 Feb '23, 17:11 UMMR |
You can see see details about how OSM handles disputes like this by reading this document on the foundation's website. As I suspected, the relevant claims in this area are indeed mapped, such as here. The Halaib Triangle is currently administered by Egypt, so the creators of the OSM Carto map that you see by default at openstreetmap.org have chosen to show that. Different maps use different data, and as the PDF that I linked to suggests, if you want to create a map using that data you are encouraged to do so, and if you ask how to do that I am sure that lots of people will offer to help. answered 10 Feb '23, 19:13 SomeoneElse ♦ Yes indeed, I would like to create a map using that data. Please guide how can help in this matter.

I'm not sure there's a straighforward recipe for this, but there may be some useful pointers on the OSM India github repo (they have similar issues with rendering boundaries): https://github.com/osm-in/openstreetmap.in/issues/38#issuecomment-706880270.

Given that this dispute involves https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bir_Tawil (by omission) I'd be very surprised if every aspect of every claim here wasn't in detail in OSM.
This is a reference from the UN proofing the area is a subject of conflict without a bias. https://www.un.org/geospatial/content/africa-2
