Why not ask your question on the new OpenStreetMap Community Forum?

We use OpenStreetMap in a global CRM system. In India we encounter problems as most addresses are not found by OpenStreetMap. The reason seems to be that the addresses contain a lot of data that OpenStreetMap can not handle. Here a few examples:

S No 1243,Khandve Nagar, Nagar Rd, Wagholi, Pune 412207, MAHARASHTRA

No. 92, KIADB Industrial Estate, Phase II, Jigani Industrial Area, Anekal Taluk, Bangalore 562 105, Karnataka

Plot No.2, Phase II, Peenya Indl Area, Bangalore 560058, Karnataka

L3, Sidco Indl Estate, Kodungaiyur, Chennai 600118, TAMILNADU

4300, Spine South, Sricity DTZ, Chittoor 517541, ANDHRAPRADESH

All addresses are being found by Google StreetMaps, but not by OpenStreetMap. We spent a lot of time trying to figure out which information should be omited, where to set additional commas etc., but we haven't found a logic yet.

Does anybody know in which format Indian addresses should be set up, so OpenStreetMap will find them?

Thank you very much for your help!
