Good day. After the update, my application doesn't display the edits I made. If I go through my computer to my personal account (username/password), then the edits are visible. If I enter the application on my phone through Google Account, then edits are not displayed. The e-mail is the same everywhere. What could be the problem? Address "support@maps.me" does not respond to the request. Thank you.

There are other maps like OsmAnd which allow more frequent updates. OsmAnd live for example allows up to hourly map updates but requires a subscription.

scai, the problem is not in maps updates. And the fact that the application does not display my edits in maps. In the previous version of the application MapsMe, they were displayed. I can download the necessary cards myself.

Alright then you need to ask them that. I've read that the in-app editor was disabled, so maybe the edit counts where lost at that point.

You did the edits through the maps.me app ? I think it only recorded those, when I used it years ago.

I think it's better to show. The first picture is a PC, the second is an App. Made in one picture.alt text

The application does not automatically load new data from OSM. Instead, the maker of the applications needs to build new map packages (OSM does not control how frequently that happens) and then you need to download such a package. You were right in contacting support@maps.me but perhaps your question to them should simply be "how do I update my maps".

If maps.me don't answer, use another app.

To add on Frederik Ramm's answer, Maps.me updates its downloadable maps only when releasing new versions of the app. So you'll have to wait for a notification to update the app, and then in Maps.me you'll need to download new maps. Of course at the time you do that, the data extracted from OSM might already be somewhat old, so you might have to wait for a second cycle of updates.

Other app have various policy, for example OsmAnd has monthly updates of maps for the free version, and up to hourly updates for the paid version, new version of the app or not.

Otherwise there is a fork of Maps.me, "Organic Maps", that has the same policy as Maps.me, but release new versions of the app quite more often, and they want to switch to separate update frequencies at some point.

Hope this helps.

Best regards.

H_mlet, i understood about the maps and updates. The question is, how is my edits count tied to the app version and maps?

(17 Jul '22, 18:21) Chronic

Hi.

The edit count in Maps.me has always been different from the one in OSM. IIRC it's the edits made with the app, only. Maybe an update might loose that information. Or changing account.

Hard to find more information, as the maps.me website now is more about money than maps. Couldn't find any documentation...

Most important is that your edits are visible through OpenStreetMap ! ;-)

Regards.
