Hello, non-track streets, e.g. path or secondary, with tracktype=*-Tag should be highlighted with an error in ID editor. tracktype should be used on tracks only! Best regards Mike |

The wiki page on tracktype specifically says “It usually applies to highway=track but is often used for non-tracks too, especially in less-developed places where many main roads are unpaved.” |

(this is something best discussed somewhere like community.openstreetmap.org or similar) but, why do you think it is a problem to use "tracktype" with highway != track ?
