Hi everybody, I would like to use some building shape information in San Pablo, California. However, I noticed that in OSM this information is currently missing: I cannot find any building data for San Pablo, California, in OSM. Is this a recent problem in the data? Or a layer with building information for San Pablo was never build up in OSM? Other nearby cities such as Richmond or Berkley have the building information available. asked 24 Jun '22, 12:43 Anice |
Openstreetmap is almost totally mapped by volunteers. Some areas are more complete. Mappers have different interests and tend to work on those features. Drawing building shapes from aerial images, and doing a good job, can take a lot of time even with practice. You have highlighted something that needs work, someone may pick it up. Do you want a job? answered 24 Jun '22, 13:09 andy mackey 1
For a given definition of job that almost certainly doesn't involve getting paid. :-)
