It seems to be used as a dumping ground for old trailers, rubble, bricks, scrap and a few run-down buildings on the site. Cannot seem to find out what this site is officially used for. Here is the place: https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/52.85360/-2.71682 and https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit#map=19/52.85366/-2.71640. What should it be mapped as?

From your description, maybe landuse=landfill.

From the aerial imagery, though, it might just be some land with some buildings and junk piles on it. I'm not sure how I'd categorize it -- some people just like to put buildings and junk on their land. It might be residential or industrial, but if you don't know it's better not to force fit a possibly false tag IMO. There isn't a mandate to categorize every square meter of the Earth. (Some mappers disagree of course. Always.)

From the imagery, it just looks like an old farmyard, or one of the places on the borderline between residential, agricultural and industrial; it doesn't look like a landfill. I probably wouldn't especially worry about it and just pick "what it most looks like to you". It is, at the end of a day, just someone's house and yard.
