can anyone clarify this, they seem to be very similar. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:place=neighbourhood https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:landuse=residential I am guessing residential is used for small areas with some houses. neighbourhood for named neighbourhoods

landuse=residential is used to describe land that is used for housing.

place=neighbourhood is for a small, named residential area. As the boundaries between individual neighbourhoods are often quite blurry they are often mapped as nodes.
