How to properly map a wall=dry_stone?

1

In several countries, the land properties are surrounded by dry stone walls. You can walk the countryside through footpaths that are formed by the borders of those land properties (the dry stone walls).

Example of footpath that is created by the borders of two adjacent properties.

I am interested in mapping a footpath and not the individual land properties.

How do I do that? Do I map first the footpath as highway=path, then add around it the two wall=dry_styones?

Pretty much. Just look anywhere in the Peak District & you will find 100s of mapped drystone walls, often, as in your photo, either side of a path.
