Hello,

I am trying to add a user as editor to a custom map in Umap. While I can see other usernames in the list while I type in characters, his username doesn't show up.

Is there a reason for that? Maybe an option somewhere to appear in the list or not?

Thanks for your help and best regards,

lilalox

Hi.

There are no settings in the uMap account.

Check with the user that they have successfully logged in on uMap, on the same instance.

The username can sometimes be modified from upstream, but sometimes it isn't, so maybe check the username displayed in uMap.

Hi!

Yes, they've successfully logged in on uMap, and have been able to create a map of their own. We checked that the username in uMap is the same, but it doesn't appear in the list.

The list I'm referring to is on a custom map, in the Permissions menu, "Map's editors".

Best regards

Are the users on the same instance (e.g. *.fr or *.de)?

I also noticed that the French instance has problems with non ASCII characters. I have an OSM user name with a "ΓΌ" and it gets dropped on umap. Does the offending user have non ASCII characters in their name?

If you can, please share the user name, so we can test in other maps.

Otherwise I'm afraid you'll need to add another issue to long list there : https://github.com/umap-project/umap/issues
