Hello List, I noticed that Bing imagery provided in JOSM of the volcano recently erupted is pretty different from Mapbox, ESRI, etc. Possibly it is brand new imagery of the aftermath, since there is still visible some mud into the ocean. But since the area is rather "dynamic", there is even the chance Bing is the oldest. Aquisition date timestamp services timestamp service is not available anymore. asked 16 Jan '22, 14:10 Cascafico |
MAXAR often distributes disaster imagery separately, nothing for Tonga yet though. The first imagery available for OSM use is normally Sentinel 2 but it can be rather involved to get it into an editor as the commercial providers don't generally permit their latest processed versions to be used in OSM. FWIW, JOSM is giving "Metadata Capture Date: 7/21/2010-7/21/2010" for Bing imagery in the vicinity of Hunga Tonga. answered 17 Jan '22, 19:36 InsertUser |
Update: since the last time I tried to get aquisition date via JOSM, now Bing metadata are red completely... metadata capture date is 7/21/2010
Yet, no data for Mapbox, Maxar, ESRI.
