I'd like to add Byways, but don't see the option. Is it there?? If so, where should I look? Thanks |

Byways (aka BOATS, byways open to all traffic) and Restricted Byways are indicated by adding the relevant designation tag (you need to scroll down to the all tags section in the iD editor). Usually these will be mapped as tracks (highway=track), but some may be service roads in part, or any signs of tracks may have completely disappeared, and they may not be much more than an overgrown footpath in appearance. Separating the legal rights from the actual type of highway has proven of high value so this is pretty much how all Rights of Way have been mapped in the last 10 years. |
