Trying to use the OSM map for trails in national park. Maps are excellent, but the "NR" legend is repeated on every tile and is really distracting. Is there any way to turn off or remove this information? I'm viewing in Garmin basecamp and GPSMAP device. asked 06 Dec '21, 20:32 springerjscott |
As you've suggested yourself in your comment, you'll need to contact the operators of the site directly about how customisable their maps are (if at all). answered 06 Dec '21, 21:31 SomeoneElse ♦ |
Garmin do have a lot of settings that allow you to configure what shows up and at what zoom level. I haven't used basecamp for some time, but from memory it will show more or less detail I think. The Garmin Oregon 450/650 and my old Vista had that feature. See if your device has such a setting, what model is it? answered 07 Dec '21, 12:58 andy mackey 1
To add a bit more here:
Neither of those will make something "go away altogether", but choosing a different pre-built Garmin map could, and creating your own map also would.

Which OSM Map are you using? There are many pre-built ones for Garmin devices, and it's possible to create your own that can look however you want it to.
Hi Someone Else! I just grabbed the Garmin file from http://www.gmaptool.eu/en/content/usa-pacific-osm-topo-routable. Hoping from routable topo trail map for California. (I use California Trail Maps also, which I think may use OSM base but this .eu site has more accurate or recent trail map.). Should I be asking my question on the gmaptool.eu site or is there a better solution?
