Parks near me have bins that are only allowed to have hot coals put in them. I've tried looking around for how to map these, but not having any luck.

For reference, they look kind of like this.

Right now, I have it as:

amenity=waste_basket
waste=coal

However, this doesn't look official my any means that I could find?

"Coal" is either short for charcoal, or is not used alone as the fuel coal without charchoal. Should be =charcoal for starters. Avoid abbreviations or nicknames.

Although there are 25 https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/waste=hot_coals instances that you may follow, I kinda think its status is already assumed to be hot. Like you won't specify =hot_cigarettes (even though they may be extinguished), when only =cigarettes is used.

Thanks! Yeah I didn't mean to ask about the "hot" part, but I see it came across like that. As a follow-up, though, I see that in the link you sent, if I replace hot_coals with charcoal, it only shows one node with that tag. Is this just not used at all?

There are also 2 examples of waste=BBQ which I would assume has the same intention.
