Wayside crosses (Wegkreuze, Materl, Bildstöcke) are very common in Austria and also useful for orientation. How is it possible to tag these in OSM? The smallest places of worship is a chapel but this is not approriate. asked 03 Oct '11, 20:21 Schiller2 |
If you visit our Wiki (wiki.openstreetmap.org) you'll find there is a search box in the upper right. Enter "wayside cross" and you will find the answer to your question. The wiki is generally a good first port of call if you are looking for tagging information. Other methods include a visit to taginfo.openstreetmap.org, where entering "cross" in the search box also quickly yields the over 20,000 occurrences of wayside crosses in OSM. Finally, even entering "openstreetmap wayside cross" in any web search engine quickly leads to the desired result. answered 03 Oct '11, 20:36 Frederik Ramm ♦ Gnonthgol ♦ Thanks for this answer. I was not sure about the correct translation of "Wegkreuz". But now I also got my answer for "Materl" which is "wayside shrine".
