In this changeset (https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/112436878#map=14/50.9177/-1.3936), I deleted two defunct bus routes (routes no longer operated) but on one of the route relations, there is now a single phantom member that will not load and I cannot delete. Any suggestions? https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/3798494

The only member of that relation is another relation which in turn does not have any members at all. Maybe this caused iD not to handle the relation properly. You should be able to delete the relation using other editors like JOSM or Potlach. If you do not have access to those editors report back and someone can do it for you.

I think in other questions here it was concluded that iD will automatically delete a relation when it is empty. I'm not sure it will do this recursively though? In this case the linked relation is itself part of a route master.
