I'm attempting to find all places of worship in my state. I suspect the results are not complete to my liking because it is only entered as a waypoint and not a node. is this the case? & how can I solve this?

I don't know much about overpass, but the overpass turbo wizard follows the main query with Which I think recurses down the ways to give the nodes required to show the outline before producing the geometry? |
