Map rotation with GPS moving direction on Umap

0

Hi all,

I'm using UMAP to follow some GPX tracks for bikes tours in the countryside.

Is there ans possibility on UMAP to rotate the map in the direction you're moving (GPS position activated). I looked in the paramètres, but I did'nt find anything.

Thanks for your help,

Raphael

Hello,

I don't think it's possible, you could raise an issue at the issue tracker of umap, but I don't think anyone is going to spend time working on this kind of functionality, as it's not usually the point of this application.

When you can edit the map, you can download the data as GPX, which is really convenient, but here it seems edition is closed.

If you click on some circuit, clicking "Détails parcours" will lead you to a page where individual GPX tracks are downloadable.

Once you have the GPX files, you can use some app to read them, I really like OsmAnd. Organic Maps is a simpler choice, but you have to convert gpx to kml first. These app are really made for usage on the go, the data is fully available offline, and much more.

Regards.

Hi H_mlet,

Ok, that's what I thought, I was just wondering if this kind of developpement was planned or not.

Thanks for your answer, we will check with Osmand.

Kind regards,

Raphaël.
