Hello, How long does it normally take for contributions to go live on the public map? Thanks asked 01 Mar '21, 13:58 HenryBirks02 |
There's no single "the public map". Things you add go into the OSM database immediately, but maps based on that data will be updated at different speeds. Of the 5 map layers at OpenStreetMap.org, the "standard" layer will update at some time between almost immediately to about once a month, depending on the zoom level. Other map styles available at OpenStreetMap.org may be quicker or take longer. Some in-application maps may take longer still to update, as the map data is only updated peridically. answered 01 Mar '21, 20:00 SomeoneElse ♦ |
The new items or the edited ones are available in the database as soon as you save your edits. However, osm.org slippy map might take longer to display the new features. You can try to clear your browser cache (on PC using Ctrl+Shift+F5, on Mac Cmd+Shift+F5, on mobile clearing the browser app cache) and they should be visible. answered 01 Mar '21, 14:10 Mannivu |
