How to tag an ashiyu (foot bath onsen, 足湯)?

0

Many Japanese onsen towns have ashiyu places (足湯).
They are public foot baths using hot water from a hot spring.

Question: How to tag an ashiyu?

bath:type=onsen is not a correct choice, as https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/JA:Tag:bath:type%3Donsen explicitly says 足湯[...]には使用しないでください (translation: "please do not tag ashiyus as onsen")

I don't quite see what the issue is, simply use a distinct bath:type value.

See https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/bath%3Atype#values

If you don't believe the already in use "foot_bath" captures enough information use "ashiyu".

Document it in the wiki https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key%3Abath%3Atype for extra points.
