For a project, I would like to know the width of sidewalks next to recycling bins in a city.

I tried several requests on http://overpass-turbo.eu/#, but : - lots of sidewalks aren't informed - when they are informed, the width generally isn't

However, an approximation of this width always exists since it's mapped... (with the grey area). Is it possible to extract the grey polygons corresponding to the sidewalks ?

(and then I wonder the same for the streets)

Thank you !

I don't believe many sidewalks are mapped as polygons. Maybe that is different in the area you are interested in. Could you link to one such sidewalk so we get an idea what you are looking for?

Yes, I read your question and I also have to face this kind of problem too. Then I contact the support team of OpenStreetMap, they did sort out my problem in a few minutes.

Hi EliseP, besides the ways to extract those numbers, you will strand on the number of sidewalks that got tagged with a width value. And the view will not show the value besides a bin. Writing this answer, it crossed my mind there is an other way to tackle your question. Start working the other way, search for bins and look at sidewalks with values next to them. A lot of work, yes. Ps, you could start to edit sidewalks and theire width or value.
