Hi I am new here and I am not sure if I have got the right concept of this community. I joined because I wanted to do voluntary work in the light of the recent pandemic sweeping the world and in light of getting aid to war torn countries. If I can help in this way during lockdown and beyond then I will feel I have contributed to helping. However, I am struggling to even start!!!! I would like to get in touch with the community to understand how you all tick :). I do not want to be one of those statistics who sign up and then doing nothing. If there is anyone who can help me understand and get me started. I am a complete novice but am willing to learn and help in anyway shape or form. If my understanding of mapping is not for volunteers then I will cancel my enrolment and not bother anyone any more. Thank you in advance.

Most people are voluteers, but most people map in their own region, where they can add important local information. You can however take a look at hot osm (https://www.hotosm.org/) for humanitarian, remote work.
