In JOSM there is a standard built-in method to copy tags from a node or way to a relation but is there a way to copy the tags from a relation to a node or way? |

I’m not near my computer now but I am almost certain if you right click on the relation listed in a window on the right side, then select relation. Then select edit, copy tags. Then select your node or way and then edit, paste tags... it should work. You will need to delete those relation specific tags not suitable for your node or way. Double-clicking on it does this.

Perfect. That works very well. I'd been puzzling over that for quite a while. The usual copy/paste functionality doesn't work but this method does.
