An internet exchange point (IXP) is a facility where multiple ISPs have a routing server, so traffic can move from one company's network to another. I don't think office=it would be appropriate; I don't think it's actually an office. Maybe amenity=ixp? It's never been used but I can't think of anything better.

There is a tag telecom=data_center. Also not used that often yet. I'd say an IXP is a subset of a data center.

This tag may be appropriate, but...

The reason I'm asking is because of an "Untagged named object" issue on Osmose. There is an address node that has a name but no 'primary tag'. telecom=* doesn't count as a 'primary tag' so this will not resolve the issue.

Who says it is not a primary tag? Osmose? Then you can safely ignore it I would say.

But it might be appropriate to add a building=yes or building=service tag if you are tagging the complete building. If you are just adding an area inside a building I would leave it with the telecom=* as the main tag. Also have a look at the proposal page for the usage.
