Hi,

Would anybody be able to direct on where Mapy.cz source their data from of the Falkland Islands?. There are some errors on place names found on the capital Stanley, which has been incorrectly named. I have been directed by Mapy.cz here for information and it seems on their site,{https://en.mapy.cz/zakladni?x=-57.3268727&y=-51.9816779&z=9&source=osm&id=238} where the error is located I can report the error but they are unable to correct it. I have received an email from Seznam which follows "Hi!

Thank you for your efforts to improve our maps. However, outside the Czech Republic, we utilize external data from the OpenStreetMap project that emphasizes local knowledge. If you are sure your information is correct, please visit www.openstreetmap.org to fix or report the issue. Our maps are updated on a regular basis and changes will appear in a few weeks.

Team Mapy.cz / WindyMaps"

Sorry if I have gone in the wrong direction but looking for some advice please

Gary

From their response it looks like it is probably OpenStreetMap.

The local name is occasionally overwritten by those that don't care about OSM's on the ground rule for disputed territories.

The name appears to have been corrected after the most recent bout of this.

I would expect the error to disappear next time they update their map data.
