When editing, I've noticed that some businesses have their logos as part of the feature type. I assumed that this came from Wikidata, but looking further into it this doesn't always seem to be the case. For, example, in the following case we can see Home Bargains:

Home Bargains Logo

The Wikidata code for this is Q5888229. Looking at Wikidata for this, there is no logo. I thought that maybe it is pulling it from the Wikipedia page, but that uses a different logo.

Update: Just speculating, but perhaps it gets it from Twitter. The Wikidata page references their Twitter account. The logo there looks to be the same:

Another update: This time looking at Aldi:

The Wikidata page for this, has two logos which appears to be for both Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd. The logo used in OSM seems most similar to Aldi Süd but is not the same. The page, then has three Twitter accounts: Alid USA, Aldi UK and Aldi Ireland. It seems to have taken the logo for Aldi USA. I guess because it is the first one.

Does anyone know what the business logic is behind this? Why does a Twitter logo get used in preference to a Wikidata logo? Where else might it look?

At least some come from Facebook (if you select dont use 3rd party sites, then many of these disappear). There are various discussions on this point because there was concern that a user without the option disabled may have been inadvertently exposing personal information to Facebook.

The iD code is on github which for a few big brands prioritises the wikidata logo, but otherwise looks to be using Facebook, Twitter, Wikidata in that order, based I think on the name suggestion index first, then the information in wikidata.
