Hello all!

I'am working on a pilot to use the OSM data as a map for navigation purposes in emergency services. I would like to now what the best way is how to handle the roads near an hospital. Those roads are usaully private and only accesible trough a bar or pole. Usually it is near the emergency entrance of an hospital but not always. I'am looking for a way that it is still navigatable for emergency services but not for 'normal' users. I was looking at the emergency tag but i dont know if thats the right way to go in this specific case.

All help is welcome, thanx in advance!

The access tag emergency=yes is pretty much the standard way of marking such roads (you will also need to use it on any barriers such as lift gates used to restrict access in normal times). See the wiki.

Thanx SK53! Should we count this one as my first 'stupid' question? :-) Just wanted to be sure before i went on and alter such roads. Saw that emergency-designated is also one that is going to come in handy. Thanx again, PU
