Hi I'm new to Openstreet maps APIs and I've almost read the whole documentation and about APIs. I want to develop a small Python Application using a local copy of OSM database of a particular region, then I would like to add some relevant attributes for nodes into it and update those fields in the database according to the user input and displaying its properties on the map. I'm only concerned to render those added fields on the map along with the name of the node.

What I've understood to do this: 1. Making a local copy of the OSM db. 2. Querying osm db for a node and rendering the results on the map using maperative.

Please tell me if I've understood everything correctly, would this approach work?
