Hi, I am opening the "ID" Editor from within the Tasking Manager. That way, a red square marks the area within that I am allowed to map. But there seem to be limitations: I am only allowed to map streets and buildings. I am not allowed to map water like lakes, ponds, rivers. Is that intended? The ID editor allows specific OSM features to not be displayed. The control is available just below the layer option on the RHS of the screen. You need to scroll down and then a range of options are available to switch various categories on or off. I presume that ID has an API option which allows these to be selected when invoking the editor from Tasking Manager. This also greatly facilitates validation by only showing the specific objects requiring validation relevant to the task. answered 02 May '20, 13:07  SK53 ♦ |
AFAIK, the tasks for the tasking manager are set for certain projects. Those projects focus usually on roads and buildings. The reason is that they want to know where people live and how to reach those places. The other features are considered less important. You can always start mapping in those areas without going via the task manager. answered 02 May '20, 16:42  escada |
Technically, aside from the ability to tag directly in the tags section in iD 2, iD 3 preview seems to allow hidden features to be selected (not sure if intended). In any case, objects edited will remain visible regardless of the filter.
